Return to Self (2024)

2024 builds on the floundering of years past—are we seeing a pattern here? But with floundering comes progression, so I’m here for it. Landscapes are becoming more refined but are also losing their pull, but also aren’t losing their pull? What am I doing here? Am I making art or just pretty pictures? Does it matter? These questions have been turned over and over in my mind ad nauseam. Philosophy and personal stories take their turn at the easel. Will I return to plein air, too?
